The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) of India has released the preliminary report on the tragic accident involving Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 (registration VT-ANB) that crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025, en route to London Gatwick.

A serious aviation accident has been reported involving Air India Flight AI171, which was en route from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) to London Gatwick (LGW). The flight, operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner registered as VT-ANB, reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff near the Meghani/Meghaninagar area in Gujarat.
