The last A380 makes its first flight

Yesterday, March 17th, the last A380 aircraft produced by Airbus took off for its first flight test. Emirates' Airbus A380 took off yesterday from Toulouse Airport (TLS) at 11:54 am (UTC) for Hamburg, Germany.

Emirates is currently the plane's largest customer, and the last aircraft produced has the still-French prefix registration: F-WWSH and with manufacturer's serial number (MSN) 272.

This is the last superjumbo produced by Airbus, given that Emirates Airlines in 2019 announced the reduction of the A380 fleet to 39 aircraft.

Emirates has ordered a total of 123 aircraft of the model. The number of aircraft produced by Airbus or to be built, according to information, will be up to 251 aircraft.

With the Coronavirus pandemic, the demand for international flights and long routes had a significant drop. Many airlines such as Lufthansa and Air France have retired the plane from their fleets.

However, there is still hope; some airlines, such as British Airways and Qantas, are interested in flying the aircraft in the near future.
