Standing Together for Lito

The aviation community is once again showing the strength of its connections — this time in support of someone who has inspired thousands of people through his passion for aviation.

Lito Sousa, known to millions through his work with Aviões e Músicas, one of YouTube’s largest aviation channels, was recently diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a rare and rapidly progressive neurological condition. His family is now facing a difficult race against time as they search for options that could give Lito another chance.

One community, one message

His story has already reached aviation enthusiasts, pilots, creators, airlines, and people around the world. Every share can help the family's message reach someone who may be able to provide information, guidance, or a connection to the right research team.

Following an emotional appeal from Lito's wife, Mila Seidl, aviation enthusiasts and followers worldwide have come together on social media to raise awareness of his situation and support the family's efforts to explore potential clinical research opportunities.

Among the possibilities being pursued is ION717, an investigational treatment being studied by Ionis Pharmaceuticals for prion diseases. The treatment is still experimental and has not been established as an effective treatment for CJD. Ionis currently lists the associated Phase 1/2a PrProfile study as active but not recruiting.
