Luxair welcomed its first Boeing 737 Max as part of its fleet modernization efforts. The aircraft, registered as LX-LBL, is equipped with CFM International Leap-1B engines and was initially delivered to Air Italy in 2018.

Air Italy was a short-lived joint venture between Qatar Airways and Alisarda, which operated a Boeing 737 Max aircraft fleet. However, the airline ceased operations in early 2020, and the aircraft became available for Luxair to acquire.

Earlier this year, Luxair announced its plans to purchase Max 8 jets, which are scheduled for delivery starting in 2026. In the meantime, Luxair has decided to lease some of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft to bridge the gap. During the Paris air show, Luxair also revealed its agreement to acquire the smaller Max 7 variant.

With the introduction of the Boeing 737 Max into its fleet, Luxair is taking significant steps towards modernizing its aircraft and offering an enhanced travel experience to its passengers.
