Lufthansa Unveils First Airbus A350-1000 in Special 100th Anniversary Livery

Lufthansa has officially unveiled its first Airbus A350-1000, showcasing a striking blue special livery commemorating the airline's 100th anniversary. The aircraft, registered D-AIFA, will carry the name "Deutschland" and is expected to enter service with Lufthansa's Munich-based fleet this autumn following the completion of flight testing and final acceptance procedures.

The arrival of the A350-1000 represents a significant milestone for both Lufthansa and Airbus. The aircraft will be the 700th Airbus delivered to the Lufthansa Group, underscoring the long-standing partnership between the European manufacturer and one of its largest airline customers.
Lufthansa currently has 15 Airbus A350-1000s on order, with deliveries scheduled to continue through 2030 as part of the airline's ongoing fleet modernization strategy.
Celebrating a Century of Lufthansa
The newly unveiled A350-1000 is the seventh aircraft to receive Lufthansa's distinctive centenary livery. It joins a growing fleet of special anniversary aircraft, which already includes:
- Airbus A350-900
- Airbus A380
- Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
- Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental
- Two Airbus A320neo aircraft
Lufthansa's New Long-Haul Flagship
Configured with 300 seats across four cabin classes, including a dedicated First Class cabin, the A350-1000 will become Lufthansa's new flagship for long-haul operations.
Compared to the smaller A350-900 already in the fleet, the A350-1000 is approximately seven meters longer, offering greater passenger capacity while maintaining the aircraft family's renowned fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced passenger comfort.
The aircraft is expected to play a central role in Lufthansa's premium intercontinental network from its Munich hub.
