Lufthansa Group's new airline Eurowings Discover starts operations

Lufthansa's subsidiary for tourist and short-long-haul destinations, Eurowings Discover, conducted its inaugural commercial flight on Saturday (24).
Eurowings Discover's Airbus A330-200 (D-AXGE) took off from Frankfurt Airport in Germany at 20:00 (CEST), landing at 05:13 (EAT) in Mombasa, Kenya's second-largest city.

The aircraft flew for 12 years in the Qatar Airways fleet (A7-AFL) after being delivered to the German group's new subsidiary.
On Sunday, July 25th, the airline conducted another flight to another destination, Zanzibar (ZNZ), Tanzania, with the airline's CEO and captain onboard piloting the aircraft, Wolfgang Raebier.
The Lufthansa group airline's fleet will consist of two aircraft, two Airbus A330-200: D-AXGE and the D-AXGB (A 16-year-old Airbus A330-202).

Among the airline's destinations, Eurowings Discover will fly to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and to Vindique in Namibia starting next month. 10 new destinations will be announced to be operated by the German carrier until the end of the year.
