Emergency Landing of a Boeing 737-400F at Viracopos International Airport

Campinas - Viracopos International Airport captured by Golf Oscar Romeo
A Boeing 737-400F made an emergency landing at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas due to a tyre burst. The aircraft, a 737-400F (freighter) registered as PP-YBB, belongs to the Brazilian airline Modern Logistics. The flight departed from Campinas at 12:30 PM, operating flight MWM-9704 and landed back at 2:05 PM (Brasilia Time) at Viracopos Airport.
Initially, the flight proceeded normally until the pilots began a turn to return when the plane was over Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. After deciding to return, the pilots approached runway 33 at Viracopos for a low pass to assess the condition of the Boeing 737. The Campinas Tower air traffic controller's visual inspection indicated that a tyre on the left main landing gear appeared deflated or deformed.
The jet then made several orbits to burn off fuel before proceeding with the landing, with one tyre deflated. After the 737 touched down on the runway, the tyres burst, creating a large cloud of smoke.
With the aircraft still on the runway, the pilot reported that two tyres on the left main landing gear and one on the right had burst, preventing the aircraft from taxiing off the runway under its power or being towed. As a result, the runway was closed from 3:42 PM onwards, causing other flights to hold until the runway was cleared.
