Conviasa Receives Its First Airbus A340-600

Conviasa has today received its first Airbus A340-600 from Mahan Air, offering the new registration of YV3533. The airline is set to receive some more of the -600 variant to join its fleet of -300 aircraft. 

YV3533 was delivered to Virgin Atlantic in October 2003 before being transferred to Al-Naser Airlines in July 2014 as YL-ASM. The aircraft then changed registration in February 2015 to YL-NAB before heading over to Mahan Airlines as EP-MMF, where the aircraft was withdrawn from use in May 2020.

Then, today via flight VCV298, the aircraft was delivered to the airline's hub of Caracas from Tehran. The flight time was a staggering 14 hours and 17 minutes, demonstrating the A340-600's continued ruthless at over 20 years old. 

It is unclear when the next -600 will be delivered to Conviasa, but such a delivery is extending the lifetime of the aircraft going forward.
