AirNav RadarBox offers a variety of ADS-B hardware products such as ADS-B & UAT FlightSticks (1090 & 978 MHz USB Dongles), Filters, a USB Dongle FlightStick for VHF airband radio, and other products.

For this week's hardware feature, we highlight three must have's: AirNav's ADS-B Flightsticks, Filters, and our advanced ADS-B receiver XRange2.

1. Xrange & Xrange 2

The Xrange & Xrange 2 are RadarBox's flagship products and one of the industry's highest quality and most ADS-B efficient receivers. As the name implies, the "X" range is a high-performance receiver that plugged into a RadarBox ADS-B antenna will easily obtain significant gain and range results.

Difference between the two receivers -

The Xrange family of receivers is the result of many years of effort and experimentation in one of the world's challenging conditions. The difference between the Xrange family receivers is that the Xrange 2 is a more up-to-date receiver with more enhancements and upgrades than the previous version.

2. AirNav RadarBox FlightStick - ADS-B USB (1090 MHz)

The Image Above: RadarBox FlightStick - ADS-B USB (1090 MHz)

AirNav RadarBox ADS-B Flightstick (1090 MHz) is one of our latest ADS-B receiver USB doongle with a built-in preamplifier and filter, and built-in ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection, which provides better reception (filter) and avoids damages due to electrical discharges. Additionally, it has a high gain, providing you with a better range and reception of ADS-B data.

About RadarBox ADS-B Flightstick (1090 MHz):

  • Integrated 1090 MHz Band Pass Filter and ESD protection.
  • 20.5dBi in-built amplifier that guarantees 25-100% increased range.

3. AirNav RadarBox FlightStick UAT (978) MHz USB Receiver

RadarBox Flightstick (978 MHz) is one of our latest generation flightsticks designed especially for the UAT 978 MHz bandpass, the secondary ADS-B frequency utilized in the USA. As well as the 1090 MHz version, it has an integrated filter, amplifier, and ESD Protection.

About RadarBox flightStick UAT 978 MHz:

  • Track flights and view real-time ADS-B flight data parameters like position, speed, altitude.
  • 20.5dBi in-built amplifier that guarantees 25-100% increased range.
  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi.

4. AirNav RadarBox 1090 MHz ADS-B Filter

AirNav RadarBox ADS-B 1090MHz filter is designed to reduce noise from a frequency range that can be problematic, significantly reducing interference, optimizing the 1090 MHz ADS-B reception, and increasing the range. It is an essential add-on for those with ADS-B tracking equipment near a communication or cell site or cell tower.

AboutAirNav RadarBox 1090 MHz ADS-B Filter:

  • Optimizes 1090 MHz ADS-B Reception.
  • Compatible with any ADS-B receiver that has an SMA connector.
  • Male-Female ADS-B connectors. Reduced signal loss.
  • Guaranteed range improvement. Substantially reduces interference and noise.

5. AirNav RadarBox FlightStick VHF - Airband USB

The AirNav RadarBox VHF Airband FlightStick is the first USB SDR receiver designed for airband radio (VHF) reception. Our VHF Airband operates in the frequency range of 118 - 136 MHz - the band used by air traffic controllers when communicating with pilots. With the Airband FlightStick, you can listen to the conversation between ATC (Air Traffic Control) and the pilots.

About AirNav RadarBox VHF Airband FlightStick:

  • Optimized for 118-136 MHz reception.
  • Integrated filter, amplifier, and built-in ESD protection.

Comparision Micro RadarBox, Flightsticks, and Xrange 2

AirNav Micro RadarBox is a USB ADS-B doongle equipped with a mini ADS-B antenna, which allows you to receive ADS-B data simply by plugging it into your computer or device that has an ADS-B input.

RadarBox ADS-B 1090MHz filter is intended to reduce noise from a frequency range that may interfere with the reception of ADS-B data at the 1090MHz frequency. But it is usually connected to a USB ADS-B doongle or a receiver like the Xrange or Xrange 2.

Concerning flightsticks, these devices are designed for ADS-B and VHF data reception, but this requires an antenna in the 1090 MHz, 978 MHz, and VHF - 118 - 136 MHz frequency bands. In other words, it is a device that receives data from an antenna and decodes it into ADS-B data or airband (VHF) radio audio.

The Xrange 2 or Xrange family receiver is a highly high-quality ADS-B receiver with a Raspberry Pi that sends data autonomously without only needing to be connected to a power source and the Internet. Another point is that the XRange2 receivers are supplied with all the necessary components (antenna, cable, etc.), making the setup process quick and uncomplicated.
