airBaltic Receives Its 47th Airbus A220-300

On February 13, 2024, airBaltic, the national airline of Latvia, welcomed its 47th Airbus A220-300 jet, bearing the registration YL-ABU, at Riga Airport. This marks AirBaltic's initial delivery of an Airbus A220-300 in 2024, constituting a segment of the 50 aircraft orders placed by the airline.

Notably, in November 2023, airBaltic solidified a purchase agreement for an additional 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, accompanied by the option for 20 more of the same type.

Up to this point, airBaltic has served over 14,478,000 passengers aboard Airbus A220-300 aircraft. These planes have executed more than 160,000 flights and accumulated 352,000 block hours. Since May 2020, airBaltic has streamlined its operations, exclusively utilizing the Airbus A220-300 for all flights. This strategic move has enhanced operational efficiency and reduced complexity.

This commitment results in a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 50% reduction in NOX emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft and industry standards.
