Featured ADS-B Feeder for July 2026: Ahmet from Turkey (Türkiye)

Ahmet Özbal, our ADS-B feeder from Turkey

At AirNav Radar, our global ADS-B network is powered by thousands of dedicated feeders who help improve flight tracking every day. Each month, we recognize one outstanding contributor whose station demonstrates exceptional performance and commitment to the community.

For July 2026, we are proud to feature Ahmet ÖZBAL, an aviation enthusiast from Ereğli, Konya Province, Turkey, whose station PGANRB500780 has been contributing valuable ADS-B data to the AirNav Radar network for more than five years and seven months.

A Passion for Aviation and Flight Tracking

Located in Ereğli, a municipality in Türkiye's Konya Province, the station benefits from the region's open landscape and favorable reception conditions.

Ahmet first discovered AirNav Radar while searching for reliable flight tracking platforms and opportunities to contribute to the aviation community.

"As an aviation enthusiast, I was looking for reliable flight tracking platforms and ways to contribute to the global aviation community. I discovered AirNav Radar through online aviation forums and was immediately impressed by their hardware support and feeder community."

That first impression turned into a long-term commitment. Over the years, station PGANRB500780 has steadily expanded its coverage and today reaches an impressive 109 nautical miles, providing valuable ADS-B data for aircraft operating across the region.

Building an Efficient ADS-B Station

Performance starts with a well-planned installation. Ahmet's antenna is mounted approximately 12 meters above ground level on the roof of his building, giving it an unobstructed 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape.

"My antenna is mounted at approximately 12 meters above the ground. I placed it on the roof of my building to ensure a clear, unobstructed 360-degree line of sight, which is crucial for maximizing the ADS-B range."

The elevated installation, combined with quality equipment, has allowed the station to deliver consistent performance over the years.

Advice for New Feeders

Having operated an ADS-B station for several years, Ahmet believes that installation quality is the key to maximizing reception.

"My biggest advice would be focusing on height and high-quality cables. Getting the antenna as high as possible and clear of nearby obstacles makes a massive difference. Also, keeping the coaxial cable run short and using high-quality, low-loss cables (like LMR-400) prevents signal degradation. If you live in an area with heavy RF noise, using a good bandpass filter is highly recommended."

For anyone planning to build a feeder station, those recommendations can significantly improve reception quality and coverage.

The Best Part of Feeding ADS-B Data

For Ahmet, contributing to the AirNav Radar network is about much more than operating equipment.

"The best part is definitely the sense of contribution—knowing that the data from my station helps track flights in real time and improves global air traffic visibility. Plus, tracking the statistics of my own station, seeing how far my range can reach, and being rewarded with a complimentary RadarBox Business Subscription are fantastic perks!"

That passion is reflected in the consistent performance of station PGANRB500780, which continues to strengthen AirNav Radar's coverage across central Türkiye.
